Teksut, the white shoe milk and milk products firm in Turkey, was established in 1956 in Gonen, Balikesir. The company started off with white cheese production in local scale when first established but expanded its facilities and product varieties in the process, and today continues its production in a modern factory, again in Gonen, established on an area of 80,000 square meters in total, 27,000 square meters of which consist of closed spaces.
The story of our Company starts by our founder and board chairman Mahmut Akpinar’s starting in cheese merchandising in 1953. Our factory is located at Turkmenli Village in Bayramic district of Canakkale, the city of famous epics in addition to its historical richness, green and blue scenery. Our factory has a daily milk processing capacity of 110.000 liters and employs 75 personnel. It is our aspiration to offer the highest quality by combining the total quality management with the philosophy that the success comes by liking what you are doing. Although Feta sheep cheese and Feta classical cow cheese are the locomotive products of our Company, we are also carrying out the production of our regional cheese varieties coming from ancestors as a cultural inheritance. In all of our products, we are applying food safety management system starting with the milk as the raw material until our product meets with the end-consumer. Haktan Gida, which started its commercial life in 1975, met the consumers in traditional market places until 1985 and opened its first milk production facility in Aksehir, Konya in 1990. In 2004, Haktan Gida opened a second milk production facility in Afyon on an indoor space of 3600 m2 and continued its enlargement with a butter production facility of 1000m2 in Umraniye. Butter Pleasure with milk fat as spreadable margarine as a result of long research and development has taken its place on shelves in many stores in Turkey and foreign countries. Plain butter which is known as GHEE, was produced by traditional methods by the Central Asian Turks in order to obtain a long shelf life and is now being produced in modern facilities integrated to the contemporary production technology. The plain butter GHEE being one of the innovative products by Haktan Gida offered under the brand Yorukbasi has hit the stores in horeca’s as well as for production of baklava, kunefe and bakery products and also for the domestic consumption. Ali Yalcindag established the small creamery that can be considered the origin of today’s Koylum in 1938. This was an enterprise that produced regional cheese from sheep and goat milk in the spring. The firm was run by his sons after him.
